YouTube Videos Available in TV

YouTube, the world’s leading video-sharing website, has introduced its new service which allows people to watch video contents using their televisions.

The Television Web site, which is still in beta (test) mode, allows Sony Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii users to watch videos from their gaming consoles.

After signing up a partnership deal with Panasonic, TiVo, Nintendo, and Sony, YouTube can reach not just web-centric people, but also those couch potatoes through television medium.

YouTube said the new service is now available in 22 sites worldwide and has been translated to more than 12 languages to accommodate local viewers.

When asked about its full launching, YouTube said that it has not yet decided the exact date of the service’s full operation.

YouTube spokesperson Chris Dale said the Television Web site provides people with easy and user-friendly navigation, adding that it has arrow-key navigation for easy browsing, dedicated buttons, autoplay function, and big texts, to reflect the television experience of people.

The service also allows users to give their feedbacks so the site will be able to know what other features it has to include and make certain adjustments to provide a more convenient television experience for them, Dale said.

Meanwhile, some people express disappointment as Television Web site is only available in Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3 consoles.

When asked about this concern, Dale said that YouTube is trying to make the service available to all gaming consoles, assuring the public that there will be no exclusive deals.

Recently, the video-sharing site has revealed its plan to expand its operation to a broader market by making its service available to television viewers.  The company also mentioned its plan to provide additional features with this service including web browsers to provide more interactive capabilities to people.
