Yahoo Introduces Its Newest Development Tools

Yahoo, one of the world’s leading Internet companies, has recently introduced its latest development tools under its new platform called Yahoo! Open Strategy 1.0 (Y!OS) which allows users to enjoy a wide array of Internet applications.

According to the company’s website, there are four new development tools to cater to the growing demand for advanced applications by web-centric market.  These latest tools are Yahoo! Social Platform (YSP), Yahoo! Query Language (YQL), Yahoo! Application Platform (YAP), and OAuth.

Access for various web services

With YQL, people can go to any web service with the use of SQL-based language which means that they can enjoy open access to any service.  This tool allows universal access across the Internet with just a single interface.

Social application for users

The YSP allows people to utilize various social applications on Yahoo and also from their own websites.  With this development tool, users can enjoy other social APIs which include Updates, Status, Profiles, Contacts, and Connections.

Users will enjoy more web applications

The advantage of YAP is that this has been designed to distribute applications to Yahoo users worldwide.  With this platform, other programming models can also be supported including YML tags, developer with access to YQL and Social APIs, and OpenSocial javascript API.

Users given full control

The new platform will allow users with full control over who will access their data which means that their privacy is highly protected.  With OAuth, the access will only be granted if this has been granted by both users and developers.

In 2009, the company is planning to integrate this new platform to all the service features of Yahoo which in turn will allow users to experience more connectivity and would also let developers to expand more.
