Sugar Inc. Expands to Cater for Fashion-conscious Consumers

For those hard-core fashionistas who may not seem to be bothered by severe economic condition most people experience today, will likely get excited to know that Sugar Inc. which is known for its women fashion blogs, has recently introduced two sites which will cater for the style-conscious consumers.

The first one is called PopSugar’s CelebStyle which promotes the fashion-taste of characters from various popular television programs.  With this site, visitors can sign up for free membership to join forums and receive helpful tips to emulate the style of their favorite celebrities.

Another site recently introduced by the company is called ShopStyle API which allows members and visitors to search for the trendiest design and most popular style.  Meanwhile, this site has also built partnership with some other popular retailers which will have a full access on members’ choice of style and the most sought-after products.  This information will help many businesses to know the consumers’ likes and dislikes and their fashion-taste, which in turn will help them decide on how to apply the most appropriate marketing strategy to further tap the lucrative industry of fashion.

Few weeks ago, the company had also announced that they will allow users to build their own blogs using the site’s platform.  Dubbed as OnSugar, this new system will allow members with free access for making creative post, videos, galleries, and comments about fashion and style.  For those people who signed up for membership, they can enjoy discounts when they purchase any item on ShopStyle and full access to Getty Image where they can upload pictures for free.

These changes made by the company are expected to turn members as product endorsers, and of course, to spike up advertising revenue.
