Late last year Nero and Tivo announced the upcoming launch of a software version of Nero LiquidTV for computers, turning them into digital video recorders.
But it had to pass like a year for Nero LiquidTV to finally see the light at the moment in the United States. Are we too late? I would not say much, just slightly delayed, existing competition in the market, although in many cases TiVo may represent a better option, even if you have to pay for it.
And is that existing solutions are focused mostly at advanced users who are not afraid to touch and manipulate their computer, install and configure applications, search tuner cards that are compatible, etc. LiquidTV offers an integrated package with the TiVo interface, simple enough to use.
Thus, there will be two different versions of the application. One of them will come with a tuner card, remote and software, with a price of 199 dollars, while the other will include only the software and will cost 99 U.S. dollars.
Both include a one-year subscription to the service of TiVo digital guide with a cost of renovation when this end of 99 dollars.
It is expected that by next year, LiquidTV begin to be available also in Europe, where for the moment only in the UK has distribution agreements, starting with Germany, the country where the company is settled Nero.
