Microsoft Reveals New Windows Tablet PCs at International Gadget Show

Software giant Microsoft Corp on Wednesday revealed a new tablet-style, touch-screen computer from Hewlett-Packard Co. and runs on the new Windows 7 operating system. The new tablet PC is one of the new designs of tablet-type computers that are set to be unveiled in January.

On the eve of the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, Microsoft chief executive officer Steve Ballmer has presented the new touch-screen device to hundreds of audiences. The CEO also unveils two other devices, which are manufactured by Archos and Pegatron.

The device, also know as a slate, is considered one of the most powerful one-piece portable PC that has no keyboard.

Ballmer, in his speech, said that the new HP tablet computer will be available anytime soon this year, adding that the new device is set to surprise users with its ultra-high speed processors and operating system that it set to match a similar type of computer of Apple.

Earlier reports said that the Apple have been secretively producing the new tablet-type PC.

But experts said that if ever Apple will come out with the new tablet computer next month, it will bank on the success of the iPhone and the Apple App Store, which both seen success in their respective fields.

The technology experts also said the new Apple computer will most likely look like the iPhone design, which have been one of the most recognizable features of the device.

Meanwhile, Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division President Robbie Bach, in the International Show, revealed a new technology called the Natal, which is designed to let video game players to control movement of their characters using their body instead of the traditional joystick.

Much like the Wii, players of the Xbox can expert a better and faster game control with Natal. Microsoft said that it will be released on time for the holiday shopping season this year.
