Google Introduces New Search Tools

A high-ranking official of Internet and technology giant Google on Tuesday has officially unveiled to the members of cyber media its new web “Search Options” and an updated version of the popular mobile phone platform, called the “Sky Map”.

In a media briefing at the company headquarters in California, Google vice president Marissa Mayer said that Google’s new Web search features will allow users to personally narrow down search results depending on their specification.

The official described the new search option of the site as “tools” that will let users to navigate and select only the information that will be useful to them, adding that the tools will also generate a specific viewership details so users can find what they need easier and faster.

The “slice and dice” option allows users to view search results based on timeline, video popularity, popular choice on product reviews, and specific forum search, Mayer said.

“With the improved Search Options, users can now view search results based on its current standing for the past 24 hours, week, and year. The timeline view will also list down sites depending on their popularity over time,” Mayer said.

One of these search tools include the new “Google Squared” which will automatically organize and acquire information and facts from all over the Internet instead of just giving users a list of web pages.

Meanwhile, the Internet giant has also unveiled the updated version of its “Sky Map” feature that let users know which constellations, stars, and planets they are looking at during night time.

The new site application works by using global positioning system and gyroscopic compass data to compute the exact location of the person and the celestial objects they are looking at during the specific date and time.

Although, the “Sky Map” feature is only available for T-Mobile G1 mobile phone which is retrofitted with the Android software of Google.
