Former Microsoft Executive Plans to Make VMware a leading Cloud Computing Company

Former Microsoft executive Paul Maritz has expressed his determination to turn his new employer VMware as the world’s leading provider of cloud computing software.

With the growing popularity of this software on corporate sector, allowing companies to save millions of tech spending, major players including Google, Microsoft, Salesforce.com, and Amazon.com are now tapping this lucrative market which has been predicted by experts to further expand in the next couple of years.

In July, Maritz replaced VMware’s co-founder and former CEO Diane Greene who was ousted due to some marketing decisions which had led to the company’s plummeting shares that had dropped 5 percent during under her management.

According to Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff, Maritz has a full understanding where his company should go.

VMware has been more successful with its virtualization software which allows companies to cut its tech spending by maximizing the efficiency of its computers.  And with the growing demand for cloud computing, Maritz is planning to go beyond virtualization adding that past achievements should not hinder new endeavors.

According to Maritz, companies which offer technologies should keep on moving and innovating since the value are continuously depreciating overtime.

Few weeks ago, the company announced its takeover of Trango Virtual Processors which is a French company that specializes in software for mobile phones.  With this move, VMware is planning to further expand its market service and move beyond computer software programs.

Meanwhile, the company is now planning another of its ambitious venture called Virtual Data Center Operating System which can maximize the efficiency of the users’ computers by managing and running disk drives, network systems, and applications in the most efficient way.
