Do you find differences between bitrates when playing music?

I’ve just got hold of an abundant page that plays an MP3 encoded at both 128kbps and 320kbps and challenges admirers to atom the bigger superior file. It’s an absorbing test, and it’ll be absorbing to see if Affiliated Internet readers can atom the difference. Don’t overlook to appear aback and let added readers apperceive how acceptable your ‘ear’ is.

I could acquaint the difference, although I had to accept to the files on a appropriate set of speakers. Area you tend to accept to your files should actuate how you encode your files. If deejay amplitude is at a exceptional and you alone accept to your advance on an MP3 amateur through a brace of about poor speakers, afresh 128kbps files should be ok. However, if you accept to your files on a appropriate hifi, or intend to in the future, afresh you will account from the college bit rates.

This is the bearings I acquisition myself in. When I got my aboriginal iPod aback in 2003 I started encoding my files at 128kbps so that I could fit as abounding advance as accessible assimilate my 15GB iPod. However, I realised too backward that in the approaching I would apparently accept a bigger device, so I should encode my files at the accomplished superior accessible so that I wouldn’t accept to absorb abounding hours ripping my CDs again. So, I went aback and re-ripped all my CDs at 320kbps.

This has served me able-bodied for 5 years, although I’m currently in the action of re-ripping my CDs in a loseless architecture (I’m application FLAC via MediaMonkey). I accept a actual acceptable stereo arrangement affiliated to capital media centermost PC, area I can acutely apprehend the aberration amid even 320kbps and loseless files. Once I’ve completed this (it will yield a few months…) I intend to put abroad my CDs always and afresh about-face my absorption to ripping my LPs by purchasing a USB turntable.

Live Search CashBack is an idea that he came to Microsoft to expand their browser market by using an alternative method. We are talking about a finder prices online (yes, I know that there are many) in which as a bonus offer discounts on all products (I have seen up to 15%) if we make the purchase through its service.

In Spain there are similar services as ciao doing price comparisons, but the grace of Live Search Cashback is based on discounts. At first glance, a counter is that it seems for the moment all the shops are American, and perhaps we will have to pay a cost of sending more expensive than if you buy some Spanish, but even so, and depending on the “cashback” we get, but there are some cases taht we still be getting a cheaper price, such as this watch:

Though i haven’t commented it, Last week the blogosphere has echoed the death of Stage6, one service similar to Youtube but with major capacity and quality which was turning it into the perfect service to be able to see series and movies totally free from our browser.

Now that Stage6 is not with us anymore, we have to find alternatives and thats where Veoh comes. This is not a new site at all, Veoh has been around us a long time and even if the word haven’t been spreaded out a lot, it seems it will be now.

I have seen a couple of series in Veoh and i have to say it works like a charm :)

¿What do you use? ¿You think Veoh has a future?

Google has improved its online translator to get the best of the Internet, for free. For some time now I am a faithful user of Google Translate and the other day I was shocked that upon entering, it was possible to translate almost all the languages most commonly used among themselves.

Before, you had the possibility of translating any language into English and vice versa, but now we can translate between languages, they are the following: English, Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindu, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish and Swedish.

Obviously translations are not perfect, but it is a step forward, but if you do not like the Google translator to translate languages “not very used” you can always try InterTran, which is what I used so far.

On the other hand, they also added a dictionary / translator, translated searches, and a widget in which they are in break one which is of its own rules (Pretty pathetic, considering that should not mislead people and less when they can position as they want ) Getting links with the keyword Gadgets.

Most who has a website / blog is well aware that getting links is not an easy task, especially if you do not have a well known blog. You can build artificial links, but we must bear in mind that today the issue of spam is very controlled. For people who just starts the most common practice is to send your page directories, but these links becoming worth less and the few directories that can provide value to your web are reduced to Yahoo, dmoz, and business.com.

Therefore it must be sought life and find our own way to get links. As you will know that I still, I must admit that I am not very much in favour of giving help but today I feel good person and I will share one.

Share with your RSS aggregators.

Internal page link-building is very important, especially if they are made in a short time, that’s why this method is one of the best, even more if the ping aggregator makes it automatic and do not have to warn you.

For the same reason I leave a small list with some aggregators to enjoy:

Feedest.com

2RSS.com

FeedsFarm.com

RssFeeds.com

FeedBomb.com

Plazoo.com

If you like the method, searching Google that there are many;)

Hotmail, founded by Jack Smith and Sabeer Bhatia in 1995, was commercially launched on July 4, 1996, Independence Day in the United States, symbolically represented freedom of ISPs. Jack Smith first had the idea of access to e-mail via the Web from any computer anywhere in the world, originally with the momentum to traverse corporate firewalls blocking the normal mail service. When Sabeer Bhatia said the business plan for the mail service, tried all sorts of names ending in “-mail” and finally decided on Hotmail because it included the letters “HTML” - the language used to write web pages. It was initially referred to as HoTMaiL with a selective use of capitals.

Subsequently, the company Microsoft purchased and is now part of its MSN network. In December 1997, administers nearly 9 million people subscribed. In February 1999 there were over 30 million in 2005 serves more than 200 million users, extends in many countries, 17 languages and is one of the largest worldwide. Between late 2005 and early 2006, Hotmail in Mexico joins the Mexican telecommunications company Prodigy (owned by Telmex), changing its name to “Prodigy MSN Hotmail” and retaining the maximum capacity of 5 GB

More information

Hotmail does not allow access to the contents of mailboxes. It is therefore impossible stored on the computer a copy of the emails (except saving pages that show one by one). It does not allow POP and although previously allowed access by WebDAV, which gave an advantage to the software Microsoft Outlook Express, this feature was removed on the pretext of avoiding spam sent by this method. The old accounts using WebDAV to retrieve the mail kept such functionality, although we no longer have new accounts or those not it be used. However since 2006 in which launched the Live version of this service, added new features such as the use of “Windows Live Mail desktop” that reminds managers mail such as Microsoft Outlook.

Windows Live Hotmail offers 5 GB of storage (though there is a limit of 10 MB attachments) to users in Honduras, Argentina, Australia, Canada, Colombia, Chile, El Salvador, Spain, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines United, Uruguay and Venezuela; users in other countries get a limit of 2 GB in the mailbox. This substantial increase in the size of the mailbox was introduced shortly before the debut of Gmail (Google). Currently, customers can pay a fee to receive 20 MB attachments (MSN Hotmail Plus) and 10 GB of storage (Windows Live Mail Plus) próximamente.A late 2005 Hotmail drew a project called Windows Live Mail, which changed totally aspect of the inbox and offer 2 GB of free storage. But in January 2007, a representative of the company announced that this enhanced service, still in beta testing (beta), will be called “Windows Live Hotmail”, rather than the name they had chosen previously, “Windows Live Mail” it has 5 GB of capacity.

It is a daily practice selling websites or domains with other people, many of these purchases being made to reuse the page and get more out or to use an existing domain with backlinks and TrustRank to create a new website and has more power in the search engines.

Is this entirely true?

Until today, I thought yes, that if I buy the juegos.com TrustRank with Google will remain the same and I can take advantage of it. What we did not know is that when you change the owner of a domain Google can reset to zero the TrustRank / almost zero.

Does that mean that whenever you buy a website or domain will lose TrustRank?

It has no reason, logic does not have much to say right now that if Youtube.com changes ownership would lose the entire TrustRank. But Matt Cutts said :

If a domain changes hands, Google resets the links goes to zero / near zero.

Come on, which I explained before, and we must take into account the possibility of this happening.

It is somewhat difficult to understand, especially because it does not appear in any of the “guidelines” of Google, and because if we think, if we sell our business to a person, what fault has the buyer if he loses any confidence?

Word Work: Surviving and Thriving as a Writer

Personal stories drawn from two decades of writing experience alternate with psychological theory and anecdotes from the lives of other established writers. Unlike most self-help books for writers, Word Work doesn’t just offer reassurance or therapy for those times when things aren’t going well; instead, it offers hands-on things to do to jump-start the process and get the words flowing again.

Readers will find original insights into the nature of writer’s block and the benefits of procrastination. Rogers helps his readers through the minefields of criticism, rejection, and money (or lack thereof!) while demonstrating techniques for feeling successful and inspired even when the day’s writing isn’t going well. The book features advice on relationships, from romance in the writer’s life to the importance of writerly friendships. Funny, thoughtful, and always lively, Word Work will give any writer, beginner or pro, a road map to greater productivity, confidence, and satisfaction.

“These brilliant essays illuminate the art of writing in a way that I have never seen before. I recommend Word Work to every writer and to everyone who hopes to be a writer.” — Damon Knight

“Word Work: Surviving and Thriving as a Writer by Bruce Holland Rogers will likely end up on every writer’s desk, or it should. Rogers’ wise and helpful book is full of sound advice for the beginner, innovative ideas for the working writer, even ingenious motivation techniques for the stalled professional. Every writer will find something of value, including those who just need a little push to get started each day. Even people who have never thought of putting pen to page, or pixel to computer screen, but have wanted insight into the minds of those who do will find Word Work fascinating.” — Jean M. Auel

“In Word Work, Bruce Holland Rogers has given us the most useful, reliable writer’s guide imaginable. His thoughtful chapters explain and analyze every kind of psychological pitfall known to the working writer, whether beginner or experienced pro. His counsel is always sensible and wise, and he knows how to solve the besetting problems of a working writer’s life. This is a remarkable book.” — Peter Straub

“Word Work offers sound, supportive advice from someone who’s been there and back. Balancing real depth with an engaging wit, Rogers is a knowledgeable guide through the perils and pitfalls of the writing life.” –Dennis Palumbo, psychotherapist and author of Writing From the Inside Out

“Rogers provides insights into that monster called ‘writer’s block’ and the guilt associated with procrastination and shows how such traditional enemies of the writer can be allies. The chapters on the hazards and benefits of writing workshops as well as those on the value of writing ‘buddies’ are particularly insightful. Those who appreciate the honest reflections of a practicing writer will value the opportunity to listen in.” — Library Journal

A Writers Digest Book Club alternate selection.
