Even Michael Jackson’s Death Was Not Spared by Cyber Attacks

Several anti-virus software companies all over the world have reported a massive cyber attacks on websites containing links to Michael Jackson and his death. Government experts believe that it is the same kind of malwares used to infiltrate the US and South Korean government websites.

Reports said anti-virus software companies immediately traced links related to Jackson’s death.

‘The said links were used by attackers to snare online users to click and download harmful software, otherwise known as malwares. The same malware were also reportedly seen in website links to Farrah Fawcett’s death.

Technology experts said that there is a direct connection between the Jackson cyber attacks and the recent infiltration in the government websites of South Korean.

They also said that users are unwittingly downloading the said malwares from infected websites as computers are often co-opted with the virus.

“Denial of Service” is often the first step the cyber criminals will do to a network of computer once they get in to the network.

In South Korea, at least 20, 000 computer and servers were reportedly infected during the recent attack.

On Thursday, seven government websites and businesses were hit by the attack, the third cyber attack of its kind since July 4.

Meanwhile, Seoul-based computer company, Ahnlabs CEO Philip Kim said that their company’s website also suffered repeated attacks from the cyber criminals, saying that most of this assaults aims to overload the firm’s systems.

However, the CEO refused to comment on the origin of the cyber attack. But the South Korean government is pointing to its neighbor, North Korea.

Kim also said that they are still verifying the origin of the attack, saying that they have no clue on how these malware got into the computers since most of the infection were carried out using personal computers owned by ordinary people.
