After declining sales and unsteady financial condition for the past couple of years, Yahoo’s new CEO Carol Bartz on Thursday said that it will focus on rebuilding the company’s Internet business, according to AFP report.
In Yahoo blog post, Bartz said that the Internet giant will “renew its focus on its customers” by creating a new management structure that will provide “speedier decision”.
One of the most notable changes under Bartz leadership is the merger of Yahoo’s Tech and Products that will allow top executives to make marketing strategy simpler while having a renewed “vision” of creating the most satisfying products for consumers.
According to an expert, Bartz aggressive handling of the company may result to financial success, adding that she only picks people she thinks she can work with while “dumping” those who cannot. Earlier report said that Yahoo’s chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen left the company, the second executive to quit Yahoo this week.
Bartz also expressed her plan to make an effective customer care support team that will allow Yahoo to improve its products and services to its clients, business partners, and advertisers. She said that knowing the feedback of other people will help the company to come up with satisfying products.
The new management and marketing structure will be implemented for two to four years.
Analysts said that the new policy is very important for the Internet pioneer which is losing grounds in the business as Google maintains the biggest share in the Internet search, accounting for more than 63 percent of the global web visits in January. Meanwhile, Yahoo accounted for 21 percent search visit.
